About Stuart Sinclair

Stuart Sinclair is a coach, group facilitator and training professional with fifteen years’ experience in both the private and public sectors.

Working on large scale cultural change initiatives and organisational restructures, Stuart specialises in developing understanding of the human element to support the progression of the change cycle to deliver the results client seek.  Most recently he has worked with 600 NSW Health managers across the Sydney Hospital System, developing their capacity for courageous conversations with their staff, using a coaching approach.

As a coach Stuart assists leaders and individuals to explore the thoughts and feelings that shape their behavior, or inability to act and to develop plans for handling often tough challenges.   To support his practice Stuart draws upon his study and work with some of the great thinkers in the coaching world. Tim Gallwey’s Inner Game, Myles Downey from the School of Coaching in London and David Rock and his work with neuroscience and coaching.  Stuart uses the SCARF model to assist leaders and individuals understand common reactions to change and uncertainty.

Stuart is experienced in supporting staff to develop personal resilience in the workplace.  He has run mindfulness training for several Federal departments as part of their employee health and wellbeing programs.

In Stuart’s early career he worked in the field of occupational rehabilitation, supporting injured workers to come to terms with changes in their employment and focus their attention on next steps.

Stuart’s facilitation skills are further enriched by his experience as an actor and improviser having worked with the Australian Theatre Company, Impro Mafia and Edge Impro in Brisbane. The skills learnt from performing enable Stuart to bring a spontaneous and playful element to his work.

Stuart brings to his work an astute understanding of ‘where people are at.’ He engages individuals with a humor and compassion which creates new possibilities.
